I have been a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC since 1992. God has used CHBC in my life for my good in countless ways. He does that through relationships, through opportunities to serve others, through encouragement from other members, but most of all, he has shaped my life by allowing me to hear his Word preached Sunday after Sunday.
After more than 30 years of sound, expositional preaching at CHBC, there is a wealth of biblical understanding and counsel wrapped up in sermons that have been preached. I work in IT, and as I've been learning to use new AI tools I hoped to find a way to expose some of the truth in these sermons to a wider audience.
For each sermon the site provides:
- a transcript,
- a detailed outline of the sermon,
- a summary approximately 15% as long as the full sermon,
- "snippets" that highlight particularly memorable quotes from the sermon,
- and a study guide with observation, interpretation, and application questions, as well as some additional Bible reading that should be related to the sermon.
I hope you will find this site helpful. If you have any additional ideas for resources that could be generated, please let me know.
The CHBC website has well over a thousand hours of recorded audio available. I am only beginning to work through that. As of December 2025, this is what I have brought into this site:
- Sermons preached in the normal Sunday morning service.
- Sermons preached by preachers who have been members at CHBC.
- All of the sermons meeting those criteria that have been preached since COVID hit in March of 2020.
- Some additional sermons that I converted from before that time for my own use. This includes all of the sermons preached at CHBC on the book of Revelation.
I do not own the copyright to these sermons. If you want to reuse the content from these sermons elsewhere, please contact CHBC. The church website is https://www.capitolhillbaptist.org/
ERRORS: AI is far from perfect and I have not reviewed most of the output I have created for this site. If you see any clear errors, please let me know. The transcripts will have grammatical errors. I will probably not correct them unless they significantly impact the understandability of the sermon.
